This year marks the 110th anniversary of Aston Martin along with the 75th anniversary of the manufacturer’s iconic DB lineup, and the British marque has kicked off the celebrations by revealing the successor to the outgoing DB11. Behold the 2024 Aston Martin DB12, a familiar-looking GT model that arrives with an updated design both on the inside and outside along with a reworked V8 and upgraded suspension. Starting with the aesthetics, the DB12 looks almost identical to its predecessor, at least on the outside. You’ll find it difficult to notice the differences unless you look very closely. The DB12 features a tweaked fascia which includes a larger front grille opening along with refreshed headlight design. The design of the grille has been updated and appears to be influenced by the one on the One-77. The rear and the profile of the DB12 are almost unchanged, which is not a bad thing.

Inside the cabin is where the DB12 is significantly different from its predecessor. The driver-centric cabin features a refreshed design that looks a lot more modern and appealing. Aston Martin has ditched the DB11’s Mercedes-based infotainment system for a bespoke unit that includes a 10.25-inch capacitive touch screen.

Thankfully, the British marque hasn’t done away with physical buttons for a number of important features. While an 11-speaker audio system comes as standard equipment, buyers will have the option to choose a 15-speaker, double-amplified Bowers & Wilkins system that has been co-developed by both companies.

Mechanically, the Aston Martin DB12 gets a lot of updates over its predecessor to offer improved performance. While its chassis has been borrowed over, the marque has made some important improvements, which have resulted in 7 percent more torsional rigidity. Furthermore, the suspension setup has also been reworked. In addition to stronger strut towers, it also gets an intelligent adaptive damper for better handling. The DB12 features five drive modes with unique damper settings: Normal, Sport, Sport +, Wet, and Individual.

The DB12 comes with a set of 21-inch wheels, which are available in three different designs and five finish options. The wheels are almost 18 pounds lighter than the outgoing rims, despite being bigger in size.

Under the hood is the familiar AMG-sourced 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8, which also powered the outgoing DB11. However, Aston Martin has updated the engine with new camshafts with different profiles, larger diameter turbos, a completely reworked cooling system, altered compression ratio for better performance.

The automaker claims the V8 engine produces 671 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque, which is enough to propel the GT from 0-60mph in just 3.5 seconds and give it a top speed of 202mph. The pricing is yet to be released but the 2024 Aston Martin DB12 will go on sale in America sometime in the third quarter of this year.
